13-14th November 2025: 14. National research conference in musculoskeletal health

The National Research Conference in Musculoskeletal Health is an interdisciplinary conference that covers research in musculoskeletal injuries, diseases and ailments. The conference will be a meeting point for researchers, healthcare professionals, users, clinicians and others interested in musculoskeletal health.

The conference is interdisciplinary and lasts two days with exciting lectures on musculoskeletal health. A status update on the treatment of non-specific back pain and inflammatory rheumatic diseases will be given, followed by a panel debate. Various intervention studies to get people on sick leave back to work will be presented. The focus is on mechanisms of sarcopenia (loss of muscle mass), what happens to muscles as we age and sarcopenia in the context of joint pain and osteoarthritis. Research on underlying mechanisms for different pain problems is presented. Research dissemination is one of the topics that is focused on during the conference. In addition to the invited speakers, there are sessions with free lectures and poster presentations that are based on submitted abstracts and that cover recent research on various topics within musculoskeletal health.

An award will be given for the best poster presentation and best free lecture.

The conference is organized by National Research Network for Musculoskeletal Health (MUSS), Research center for treatment of rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases (REMEDY) and the The Norwegian Council for Musculoskeletal Health (RMH).
