Christine Sundgot-Borgen

Christine Sundgot-Borgen joined the team in September 2020, and her postdoc position is a part of The Oslo Bariatric Surgery Study (OBSS), an ongoing prospective cohort study of patients admitted to bariatric surgery. The main aim of her postdoc project is to examine long-term modifiable postoperative predictors of changes in recommended energy balance behaviors relevant for weight loss outcomes after bariatric surgery, focusing on objectively measured physical activity. Christine has a PhD from the Norwegian School of sport sciences, Department of Sports Medicine. She defended her PhD in 2020, with the title “The Norwegian Healthy Body Image intervention study: A school-based, cluster-randomized controlled trial in high school students”. Prior to her PhD, she has a European Master in Health and Physical Activity from The Norwegian School of Sports Sciences, and the IOC Diploma in Sports Nutrition. The area of research Christine has been included in is bariatric surgery, body image, disordered eating, eating disorder, physical activity and exercise, sports nutrition, within samples of adolescents, elite athletes, university students, and the fitness industry.
