Information for OUS researchers: Important Update: Transition from Cristin to the National Research Archive (NVA)
Cristin is closing – NVA is launching
As of August 19, 2025, Cristin will be closed for new registrations. All data will be migrated to the new system: the National Research Archive (NVA).
What’s new with NVA?
NVA will:
- Replace Cristin as the national system for registering research publications and projects
- Offer functionality for archiving full-text publications
- Support open access to research outputs
What does this mean for OUS researchers?
- OUS will primarily rely on centralized data import
- Researchers can register their own publications and upload files (e.g., PDF of the author accepted manuscript or version of record)
- Uploaded files will not be made publicly available until the version and license have been verified.
- Files previously archived in DUO (University of Oslo) will be migrated to NVA.
After the transition, NVA will serve as a unified national system for both metadata and archived articles in Norway.
Training and more information
Training and further guidance will be provided when the new system becomes available in September.
