Research at the Division of Paediatric and Adolescent Medicine
The Children and Adolescent Clinic has research activity within most disease groups in children.
The research ranges from studies of molecular mechanisms and animal models to epidemiological and clinical studies. Our goal is for teaching to be based on research activity and to maintain a high professional level. The research takes place in close collaboration between OUS and UiO.
- Around 190 of the clinic's employees have research activity and are organized in one of the 14
research groups in the clinic. The groups are anchored in the clinical departments or at
the Pediatric Research Institute. The department/institute head is responsible for research in his unit. - Most of the research group leaders have combined positions at OUS and UiO, and in 2024 the
clinic had hired two professors I, seven professors II and four associate professors. In addition, an associate professor was appointed in 2023 in a fixed-term position. - Fifteen doctoral degrees were awarded, where the candidate and/or (co-)supervisor had connections to the
Children and Adolescent Clinic - 236 scientific articles were published in the clinic in 2024. Publication activity is increasing at
all clinics, but it is worth noting that BAR is increasing in share of total publications from
OUS.
