OCBE is a joint center integrating the activities of the Department of Biostatistics at the University of Oslo and the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology at the Oslo University Hospital.

OCBE covers all aspects of biostatistics and epidemiology, from methodological and applied research to advising, teaching and supervision towards all areas of medicine and health related research, from clinical and epidemiological research, to molecular biology and other basic medical sciences.
Our researchers develop statistical methods and their application to the design, analysis and interpretation of biomedical, clinical and epidemiological studies and data. Read more about our research here.
OCBE provides statistical and epidemiological advising and training for researchers and students of the Medical Faculty of the University of Oslo, the Oslo University Hospital and the South-Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority. We provide advising in choice of design and method, sample size calculation, methods of statistical and epidemiological analysis, and presentation and interpretation of results. We organize and teach courses for researchers and PhD candidates at the Oslo University Hospital and other regional hospitals in the South-Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority and the University of Oslo.
