Lapo Nardoni (Rome, Italy. Erasmus student)

As a medical student, the Erasmus+ Traineeship experience at the Department of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine at Oslo University Hospital has been a turning point for my early and future career. With a marvelous team of consultants, residents and radiographs, I could step up my clinical knowledge by actively participating in diagnostic examinations and interventional procedures. Everything was meticulously organized and I was also offered the possibility to get involved in research projects. The teaching standards are high, with a direct and effective approach and also I had the opportunity to meet truly inspiring people in an enjoyable setting. I highly recommend this experience to all my peers interested in a future in Radiology and research.

Collaboration:

Lapo Nardoni is active researcher in the project "Esophagus resection: CT body-composition as predictor of outcome".

Sude Cakar (TUMKolleg München, Germany)

"As a high school student, the time I spent doing an internship at the Department of Radiology and the Department of Orthopedics at Oslo University Hospital was a total game-changer for my early journey and greatly fueled my aspiration to study medicine.

Working alongside a wonderful team of consultants, residents, and radiographers, I absorbed a wealth of knowledge. Instead of remaining on the sidelines, they always found a way to involve me in surgeries, where they not only provided thorough and understandable explanations but also entrusted me with small tasks that made me feel like a valued member of the group. Learning this way was incredibly easy and enjoyable. This was all in all a remarkable experience not only medicalwise but also on a social level.

The time I spent there was truly delightful, as I had the chance to meet and connect with amazing individuals. The memories and lessons from that period are ones I will treasure forever. For anyone intrigued by these fields, I wholeheartedly recommend seeking out a similar experience!"

Prof. Dinesh Varma (Melbourne, Australia)

"I would like to thank you sincerely for hosting me in your department during my sabbatical.

I was welcomed by everyone and it felt like I had known them forever.

You have a very collegiate department and what impressed me was the relationship between the radiologists and other clinical staff. This was very apparent at the morning trauma - radiology meeting.

I had the opportunity to discuss various research projects being undertaken at OUH radiology department and was very impressed with the research team and the support provided to staff to undertake research. I will be keen to look at joint research projects OUH and The Alfred, Melbourne.
I would like to extend an invitation to any staff from OUH Department of Radiology to visit our department at The Alfred, Melbourne, Australia and I can be contacted on my email - D.Varma@alfred.org.au"
