Ove Øyås
- Researcher; PhD
I am a computational systems biologist at the Oslo Centre for Biostatistics and Epidemiology (OCBE) who integrates data with mathematical models to understand biology.
Ongoing projects focus on identifying biomarkers in omics data from inflammatory bowel disease patients and connecting treatment to health outcomes in people with gender incongruence or dysphoria.
My previous research focused on multi-omics data analysis and metabolic modeling of humans, other animals, and host-associated microbes such as pathogens or gut microbiomes.
Most of my research involves development of scalable computational methods that make it possible to answer new biological questions, often with a focus on genome-scale metabolism.
