Feb 2024 The MRI software platform have a planned upgrade from RX28.05 to MR30.1. The new platform enables the use of AI technology from GE (Air Recon DL) for improving data quality/reducing scan times.

2023 The number of patients included in The Brain Imaging Register has now passed 2300 included. The number of saliva tests >900.

The NO-ALS study (A randomized placebo-controlled trial of nicotinamide/pterostilbene supplement in ALS), R-LINK (Optimizing response to Li treatment through personalized evaluation of individuals with bipolar I disorder). Mindlock (Brain mechanisms underlying suicidal vulnerability).

BrainMint (Brains and minds in transition: The dark side of neuroplasticity during sensitive life phase), ImPRESS (Imaging Perfusion Restrictions from Extracellular Solid Stress), NOR-MS (Norwegian study of Oral cladribine and Rituximab in Multiple Sclerosis)

Nov 2019 New standard minimum research protocol established. Research sequences available includes DTI ABCD (https://abcdstudy.org/), enhanced ASL and MP2RAGE.

May 2019 Upgrade to GE SIGNA Premier 3.0T (full hardware and software upgrade). 

Nov 2018 The number of patients included in The Brain Imaging Registry has now passed 1700. Data from more than 3400 MRI scans is now available for research projects.

Oct 2018 Ole A. Andreassen, NORMENT, has been awarded the Bergesen prize (Bergesenprisen) for Outstanding Research in Psychiatry.

Aug 2018 Lars Tjelta Westlye, NORMENT, has been granted the prestigious ERC starting grant for the project "Brains and minds in transition: The dark side of neuroplasticity during sensitive life phase”.

June 2018 Lars Tjelta Westlye, NORMENT, awarded Oslo University Hospital Early Career Award. His research focuses on discoveries of brain imaging markers of mental illness.
