Wednesday 15th October 2014 at 14.00-16.00 hrs The Anders Jahre lectures 2014
Anders Jahre's Awards for Medical Research honor research of outstanding quality in basic and clinical medicine. The prizes are awarded by the University of Oslo and are among the largest within Nordic biomedical research.
For the first time the lectures will be held in the Research building at the Institute for Cancer Research at Montebello.
The Anders Jahre Senior Medical Prize (the main prize) includes a grant of NOK 1,000,000 and goes to Kristian Helin from the University of Copenhagen. The title of his lecture is "Epigenetic targets in cancer". Winners of the Anders Jahre Prize for Young Scientists, including grants of NOK 400.000, are Rickard Sandberg from KI, Stockholm and Sampsa Hautaniemi from the University of Helsiki. Titles of their talks are "Single-cell gene expression analyses reveal principles of allelic transcription in mammalian cells" and "Analysis and integration of large-scale molecular and clinical data in cancers". The awards will be distributed in Universitetets aula Thursday October 16th at 17.30.
