Norwegian Cancer Society supports 50 OUS research projects with 73 mill. NOK
The Norwegian Cancer Society (NCS) celebrates its 75th anniversary in 2013, and in this year of jubilee the record-breaking amount of 160 mill NOK is distributed to in total 121 national research project, spread among 12 different institutions throughout the country. The largest amount goes to Oslo University Hospital, which has been given 73 mill NOK, followed by the University in Oslo (35 mill) and Bergen (24 mill). 50 OUS research projects have been granted support.
The NCS provides approximately 25 per cent of all direct funding for cancer research in Norway, thus contributing to promoting a research environment of top international standard in the country.
