The Norwegian Cancer Society's "Research project of the month" for September 2011 went to Tor Erik Rusten from the Department of Biochemistry at the Institute for Cancer Research.
Rusten heads the project group "Phosphatidylinositol signaling & disease", and makes extensive use of the fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster as model organism.
The announcement of "Research Project of the Month" is a way of giving special attention to successful researchers the Norwegian Cancer Society are supporting.
