A figure from the review article "Cell polarity and migration: Emerging role of the endosomal sorting machinery", by Viola H. Lobert (photo) and Harald Stenmark, was chosen for the cover of the June 2011 issue of "Physiology" (journal impact factor 6.95).
In the article the authors review recent recent evidence that implicates the endosomal sorting machinery in cell polarity and cell migration, and discuss the potential role of components of this machinery as tumour suppressors.

The cover illustrates the sorting of a ubiquitinated membrane protein into an invagination of the endosome membrane, mediated by an array of protein complexes known as "endosomal sorting complex required for transport" (ESCRT). (click to enlarge image)
