The South-Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority (Helse Sør-Øst) aims to profile ongoing excellent research in the region by by calling special attention to a "Researcher of the month" - a prize that was introduced in January 2010.

For the month of May, this honor goes to Tone Tønjum from the Centre for Molecular Biology and Neuroscience (CMBN) at the University of Oslo og Oslo University Hospital.

Research is an area of commitment for the South-Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority, which spends a total of 1.4 thousand million NOK on research every year.
