Comprehensive Integrated Multi-Omics Study for SIDS (CIMOS)
Current research has identified several risk factors, including environmental and genetic influences, but the biological mechanisms remain elusive. While molecular biology techniques such as RNA sequencing and proteomics have been applied individually, no comprehensive multi-omics studies have been conducted to integrate findings across multiple molecular layers.
To address this gap, the Comprehensive Integrated Multi-Omics Study for SIDS (CIMOS) adopts a holistic strategy and aims to unravel the complex interplay of genetic, proteomic, metabolic, and epigenetic factors contributing to SIDS. By leveraging advanced technologies and multi-omics approaches, this study seeks to identify novel biomarkers and pathways that could provide insights into SIDS risk and pathology. This approach will not only enhance our understanding of SIDS but also lay the foundation for predictive tools and targeted interventions, offering hope to families and the broader scientific community striving to combat SIDS.
