Metabolomics – genetics

Metabolomics is the analysis of an organism's metabolome, and can be described as the total amount of small molecules, with particular focus on those that are part of the metabolism. Analyzes of a wide number of small analysts are a growing field of research in diagnostics and treatment, and have yielded results in areas such as cancer, autoimmune diseases, diabetes, obesity and screening of metabolic diseases in newborns.

In this part of the study, we choose metabolites that have been shown to be of importance in SIDS research, and identified 134 genetic variations to analyze using Sequenom platform.
