Forensic pathology and clinical forensic medicine
The research group has a broad profile within forensic pathology and clinical and forensic medicine. In spite of methodical advances in forensic medicine some deaths still remain unexplained. We aim to provide more knowledge about the underlying causes of death in unexpected deaths. We focus on forensic pathology and the development of new methods to help solve typical questions in forensic medicine, such as time estimating an inflicted injury or bruise, or to help conclude the cause of death. We also focus our attention to the relationship between forensic medicine and relevant legislation.
