Competence on eating disorders among school health nurses- A national survey

The school health services focus on health promotion and prevention. Given that disordered eating practices are commonly reported among school-age individuals and that these individuals may avoid seeking treatment, school nurses are in a key position to recognize students at risk of developing EDs and implement evidence based prevention interventions. However, lack of training and knowledge of appropriate interventions among school health nurses concerning EDs have been reported. Thus, this study investigates competence on eating disorders among school nurses working in high schools in Norway.
