Important results on early detection of breast cancer presented at AACR meeting
During the recent 97th AACR meeting in Washington (April 1-5, 2006) the poster from Anne-Lise Børresen-Dale's group - entitled "Expression profiling of peripheral blood cells for early detection of breast cancer", and with Jørgen Aarøe as first author, called special attention, and gained considerable media coverage.
Børresen-Dale and colleagues in partnership with DiaGenic ASA defined a set of 58 genes that were differentially expressed by peripheral blood cells in the presence or absence of breast cancer.
As a consequence of the attention, the stock value of DiaGenic increased.
