November 27, 2025: PhD Defence: Line Maria Bédos Ulvin

On 27 November 2025, MD Line Maria Bédos Ulvin defended her PhD thesis at the Institute of Clinical Medicine. Her thesis, “Recent trends in status epilepticus - with a special focus on diagnosis and prediction of outcome,” examines prognostic scoring systems and new EEG criteria for status epilepticus, using data from both a retrospective and a prospective patient cohort.
The project originated from the ERGO -  Epilepsy Research Group of Oslo at the Department of Neurology, Oslo University Hospital. Status epilepticus is one of the main research areas for the group.

The evaluation committee consisted of Professor Johan Zelano, University of Gothenburg; Associate Professor Leena Kämppi, University of Helsinki; and Professor Einar Osland Vik-Mo, University of Oslo. The defense was chaired by Professor II Bjørnar Hassel, University of Oslo. Senior Consultant and Research group leader Kjell Heuser, Department of Neurology, Oslo University Hospital, served as principal supervisor.
