Microtome stack
The illustration below shows the z-axis sampling and tissue support (membrane slide) for the first sample (#5 testicular tumor) analyzed for mitochondrial mutations in 3D.
A standardized microtome sampling was used on tissues with enough volume. The tissue support used for the 70 cuts were either LCMD membrans or glass slides. Smaller tissue samples deviate from this sampling protocoll.
