Colorectal cancer

Colorectal cancer is the second most commonly diagnosed cancer in Norway, and its high mortality rate warrants research into its causes, diagnostics, and management. Alterations to the genome and transcriptome found in colorectal cancer tissue, can be developed into molecular biomarkers and therapeutic targets, both driving the development of genomics-based precition medicine for this disease. The research on colorectal cancer performed by the Genome Biology Group is primarily through collaborative projects spearheaded by the Lothe group.
