- Head of Biomechanics Laboratory / Professor / orthopaedic consultant; MD/PhD
CV:
Harald Steen MD/PhD is an orthopaedic consultant and a research scientist at Oslo University Hospital, Rikshospitalet. He is also professor of clinical biomechanics at Oslo and Akershus University College of Applied Sciences.
Harald is head of the Orthopaedic Department's Biomechanics laboratory which is involved with various experimental and clinical projects.
During the years 2003-2010 he was co-editor in the Acta Orthopaedica journal.
Harald has been supervising various PhD candidates with backgrounds from medicine, biophysics and physiotherapy, and he has made multiple scientific papers and presentations on orthopaedic problems. His main interest is orthopaedic reconstructive surgery with focus on clinical research through measurements of strain, forces and load-share in patients with external fixators, in addition to radiostereometric (RSA) monitoring of callotases, arthrodiatases and physiodeses.
