Radek Frič graduated from the 1st Medical Faculty, Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic, in 1997. After neurosurgical training at the Dept. of Neurosurgery in Liberec, Czech Republic, he moved to Norway and joined the staff of Dept. of Neurosurgery at Oslo University Hospital - Rikshospitalet, where he has been working as consultant neurosurgeon since 2005. Since 2011, he has been affiliated with Section of paediatric neurosurgery as senior consultant neurosurgeon. His main surgical interests include vascular and skull base neurosurgery, the whole range of paediatric neurosurgery, particularly paediatric brain and skull base tumours, as well as conditions related to cerebrospinal fluid circulation and intracranial dynamics. In 2017, he defended the thesis entitled The pathophysiology of Chiari malformation Type I with respect to static and pulsatile intracranial pressure, and received a PhD degree from University of Oslo. Beside Chiari malformation and intracranial pressure, his main research focus is currently on issues related to intracranial tumours in children, particularly from neurosurgical perspective.
