Camilla Grøver Aukrust

Camilla Grøver Aukrust is a registered nurse who has worked with neurosurgical patients since 2007. In addition to a bachelor degree in nursing, she holds a Cand.Mag degree in “History of Ideas” and a M.Phil degree in “International Community Health” from the University of Oslo (UiO). She is currently a PhD candidate at the Institute of Health and Society, UiO. Her PhD project spans 6 years and will be conducted in combination with 50% clinical work at the neurosurgical department at Oslo University Hospital. Her research focuses on childhood hydrocephalus in Malawi, and can be seen as an academic continuation of the existing clinical collaboration between Oslo University Hospital and Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Malawi, through the “Blantyre-Oslo Neurosurgical Exchange Program”. Applying a qualitative methodology, the intention of the PhD project is to acquire more knowledge on pathways to treatment and quality of care for children with hydrocephalus in the district of Blantyre, Malawi.
