Anette Tryti has been awarded funding from the Research Foundation ELIB (Et Liv i Bevegelse) for a Ph.D. project to examine the management of headache patients in primary health care in Norway, with a special focus on chiropractors.

The study is divided into three parts:

1. Mapping of chiropractic treatment: Investigate how many people seek help for headaches from chiropractors in Norway, and how they are diagnosed and treated.

2. Long-term study of headache impact: Follow a group of patients for 12 months and calculate the real costs associated with headaches, including reduced work ability and use of health services.

3. Qualitative study of experiences: Explore patients' experiences of how headaches affect their quality of life and clinicians' perspectives on interdisciplinary collaboration in the treatment of headaches.

The project is based at the Division of Clinical Neuroscience at Oslo University Hospital and the Norwegian Centre for Headache Research (NorHead), and starts in January 2025.
