Reza Ghiasvand
- Senior researcher; PhD
Dr. Reza Ghiasvand is a cancer epidemiologist whose research primarily focuses on cancer prevention and early detection, with a specific emphasis on skin cancer etiology, prognosis, and survival. He is a senior researcher at the Oslo Center for Biostatistics and Epidemiology in the Oslo University Hospital, Norway. In addition to his research activities, Dr. Ghiasvand provides statistical and methodological advising to researchers and PhD students at the Medical Faculty of the University of Oslo, the Oslo University Hospital, and South-Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority (HSØ). He also holds a position at the Department of Research, Cancer Registry of Norway, where he contributes to the development of cancer control policies and programs.
Research Interests:
- Modifiable risk factors and environmental exposures in cancer etiology
- Drug repurposing for cancer chemoprevention and treatment
- Causal inference in observational studies and target trial emulation
- Risk assessment tools for personalized surveillance strategies
