Nikhil Kumar received the bachelors (B.E) degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Mumbai, India, in 2021 and the masters (M.Tech) degree in Medical Imaging and Informatics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India, in 2023. His academic journey includes being awarded a silver medal for the performance during his undergraduate studies. Notably, his master's thesis at Leibniz Universität Hannover, Germany, supported by the  DAAD scholarship, focused on the "Classification of Mueller Matrix images using Convolutional Neural Networks and its Explainability." 

Hel is a dedicated Ph.D. student in the Department of Clinical Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Oslo and pursuing his research work at the Intervention Centre, Oslo University Hospital, Norway, He is currently focused on the "Prognostication of Survival in Multimodal Treatments for Liver Metastases using Multimodal Data Analytics," generously funded by the Health Trust South-East of Norway.

His expertise spans deep learning, medical imaging, and survival analysis, showcasing a strong commitment in medical research.
