Research at the Division of Obstetrics and Gynaecology takes place at several locations where our research units are located: Ullevål hospital, Rikshospitalet, Aker hospital and Olafia Clinic. Until 2016, the Department for Gynecological Cancer was also part of the Women's Clinic.
The Division of Obstetrics and Gynaecology conducts extensive research activity on most of the conditions and diseases existing in the patients we treat at our clinics. Research ranges from investigation of molecular mechanisms, research on animal models, large epidemiological studies, and also clinical studies sponsored by industry and public funding. The research breadth and depth contributes to the high academic standard or our teaching activity at the University of Oslo. Indeed, our research takes place in close collaboration between OUS and UiO and, as the illustration shows, is organised in a combined OUS and UiO line.
