Cancer Systems Biomedicine

The Clancy lab in Cancer Systems Biomedicine develops computational methods to understand and model cancer as a complex system. Based at the Institute for Cancer Research (Oslo University Hospital), with an adjunct appointment at the University of Oslo, we integrate multi-omics, pathology and clinical data to map tumor–immune states and uncover mechanisms linked to treatment response and resistance. We are developing AI “tumor avatars” and digital-twin readiness approaches as a pragmatic step toward more predictive and interpretable models of tumor behaviour. Our work aims to deliver robust biomarkers and analytical tools that enable patient stratification, hypothesis generation and translational studies in precision oncology. We collaborate closely with multiple project groups across the Department of Tumor Biology and ICR, and will expand through recruitment in 2026–2027.
Recruiting
We are building the team during 2026/2027 and welcome inquiries from students and researchers interested in computational cancer biology.
