Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy for depressive relapse: Evidence-based psychological practice.

This project is in progress as a research article.

Depression is characterized by a high risk of new episodes of depression. A program designed to prevent depressive relapses is Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT). MBCT is an eight-week, group-based program. The program is included in guidelines for preventions of depressive relapse in several countries. The aim of the article will be to provide a summary of recent research on efficiency and safety of MBCT for depressive relapse, and discuss implication for clinical-psychological work. A special focus will be on older adults with depression, since they have a particularly high risk of depressive relapse.
