King's Gold Medal to Stem Cell Center researcher John Arne Dahl
2 September 2011
John Arne Dahl received the King's Gold Medal for best Ph.D. thesis delivered in 2010 at the Faculty of Medicine. Work was performed in the Stem Cell Epigenetics Laboratory of Professor Philippe Collas at the Stem Cell Center. Dahl's work has significantly contributed to our understanding of gene regulation in stem cells and embryos, and introduces now widely used molecular methods for analyzing genome organization.
This is the second PhD from Stem Cell Center research groups that has been awarded the King's Gold Medal. The first was Olafur Sigurjonsson, who won the award in 2007 for research performed in the group of Joel Glover in collaboration with Associate member Torstein Egeland.
