Mathis Korseberg Stokke

Mathis Korseberg Stokke is group leader for Research group for Translational arrhythmology and electrophysiology at Institute for Experimental Medical Research. He is Professor I at the University of Oslo, and senior consultant at the Arrhythmia unit of the Department of Cardiology, Oslo University Hospital Rikshospitalet.

Stokke did his PhD at IEMR in collaboration with David Eisners` research group at the University of Manchester, UK, and defended his thesis entitled SERCA2-RyR2 interplay at the heart of Ca2+ wave development in 2011. He continued his research at IEMR as a Postdoctoral fellow and supervisor, and spent his second period as a Postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Cardiology, OUS Rikshospitalet.

From 2008-2019, Stokke was part of the administration of the Center for Heart Failure Research, and acted as head of CHFR in 2018-2019. He has been Deputy Director of NORHEART – The Norwegian PhD School of Heart Research since 2013.
