COVID-19 general biobank

The purpose of the biobank is to establish a joint collection for Oslo University Hospital (OUS) of COVID-19 relevant human material that can be used for future and ongoing research projects within COVID-19. By establishing a common general biobank, we will also implement electronic tracking solutions for all samples and at the same time apply common, broad consent that is not limited to individual studies and for a specific period. The biobank will be anchored in the Division of Laboratory Medicine, by the division's Head of Research. The different collection groups will have their specific professional advice that takes care of established obligations and future requests for samples. In this way, the division and OUS will be able to ensure the best possible use of the samples, quality assurance of projects using human material and overview of the projects in order to avoid parallel projects.
