Gastroenterology research group

We conduct research within gastroenterology, with a main focus on endoscopic procedures and endoscopic treatment. We aim to investigate how diseases and conditions in the digestive system should be examined, treated, and followed up on for maximum benefit and the fewest possible complications for patients and the healthcare system. We do this through observational studies, clinical epidemiological studies, and intervention studies, in extensive collaboration with other researchers both nationally and internationally.
Our work is focused on using and improving techniques to explore, diagnose, and treat diseases in the gastrointestinal system. We use advanced technology that allows us to look inside the body without the need for major surgical procedures. Our goal is to include large patient groups from the department in our research. This helps collect a wide range of data that can lead to more relevant and comprehensive research results.
The group is also focused on developing new diagnostic methods and treatments. This means we are constantly searching for better ways to detect and treat diseases, so that patients can receive faster, more accurate diagnoses and effective treatments.
