EQ5-D
Background : Substance abuse is one of the most difficult treatment areas in contemporary society, with low rates of treatment success, high rates of patient drop-out from treatment, and severe consequences for the health and wellbeing of both patients and their families, as well as substantial economic costs to society as a whole. There is a need for assessment of treatment quality and cost-effectiveness in SUD treatment.
Aim: The aim of the study was to document quality of life measured by EQ-5D among patients seeking treatment for abuse of illicit substances in Norway, and to investigate the potential of EQ-5D as a predictive tool in clinical treatment for substance abuse patients, and to test the instruments sensitivity to change.
