Research funding from South-Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority for 2016
The board of the South-Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority (Helse Sør-Øst) has distributed financial resources to new research projects for 2016. Of the in total 535 incoming applications 121 new projects were granted support (22.6%). The competition was especially hard in the category "open project support", where 11 projects got full backing, within diverse fields such as diabetes, cancer, mental health, Alzheimer´s and coeliac disease .
A substantial amount of the resources are given to young researchers. Support is given to a number og doctoral and post doctoral stipendiates, as well as to researcher grants and career grants. The latter category is for young outstandig researchers planning to establish an independent research group.
Oslo University Hospital accounts for approximately 75% of the research in the region.
