Annual Scandinavian Course in Neurosurgery

The Scandinavian Course in Neurosurgery was started in 1997. It is arranged at Radisson SAS Resort Beitostølen each year, usually in week 12.

The aim of the course is firstly to enhance theoretical education of Scandinavian residents and secondly to facilitate interaction between young neurosurgeons in the Nordic countries. This course, or an equivalent EANS-course, is mandatory for board certification in most Nordic countries.

Feedback from earlier participants has been very positive. Since 2004 the course has been run in a four-year cycle.

  • Neurovascular Diseases and Degenerative Spinal Diseases
  • Intracranial and Intraspinal Tumors
  • Neurotraumatology and Neurointensive care
  • General and Functional Neurosurgery
