Sverre Høie got his medical degree in 2009 at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. After completing his internship at Innlandet Hospital (Hamar and Elverum), he worked at medical departments in Sørlandet Hospital, Kristiansand and Arendal. From march 2017 till august 2019, he worked at the Department of Cardiology, Rikshospitalet, Oslo University Hospital where he completed certification in both internal medicine and cardiology. 

From 2023 he is a PhD fellow at Department of Cardiology, Rikshospitalet, Oslo University Hospital. His research field is valvular heart disease, and the PhD project will focus on progression of aortic stenosis. He is employed 50 % as PhD fellow and 50 % as a clinical cardiologist at Sørlandet Hospital, Arendal. 

His supervisors are Associate Professor Helge Skulstad, Professor Kristina Hermann Haugaa and Post-Doc, PhD Jarle Jortveit.
