
Anna Sørlie

Anna Sørlie earned her medical degree from the University of Oslo (UiO), Norway, in 2019. She completed her internship at Akershus University hospital (Ahus) including a six-month service in Finnmark, in 2021. She worked three years as a resident at the division of medicine and later cardiology at Ahus. In october 2024, she started as as PhD-fellow at the department of cardiology at Oslo University Hospital joining the research group, Procardio. Her main supervisor is Mette-Elise Estensen with co-supervisors Kristina Hermann Haugaa and Nina Hasselberg.
Dr. Sørlie has a particular interest in women and heart disease, as well as athletes and sudden cardiac death. Her research primarily focuses on high-risk cardiovascular diseases in women, with two main studies; Brugada Syndrom: Drugs in Pregnancy (BrS-DIP) and Spontaneous coronary artery disease in Norway (SCAD Norge).
BrS-DIP is a international multicenter study with objective to determine the safety of anesthetic management of women with Brugada syndrome during pregnancy and delivery. SCAD Norge is a national study which aims to determine the long term outcomes after SCAD, hormonal influences and risk factors associated with coronary artery dissection, and also the effect of physical exercise among patients with SCAD.
