The COVID-19 pandemic: Reactions of acutely ill psychiatric patients

Few studies of the COVID-19 pandemic have had a focus on the effect on psychiatric patients. The aim of the project is study the mental impact of the COVID -19 pandemic for acutely admitted psychiatric patients at the Oslo University Hospital. This project was established early in the phase of the lock down to study the patient`s reactions in order to combat negative effects with a special focus on the lack of visits and reactions on fear of being infected. A short 28 item Questionnaire was developed in alliance with the user representatives and including items from a Chinese study (Zhou 2020). The results will be used to improve the situation for acutely admitted patients and in a publication. The study plans to be continued for the rest of 2020.
