Vulnerable patients with personality disorder - consequences of the corona crisis

The research group for Personality Psychiatry is currently planning a cross sectional survey aiming to evaluate consequences of the corona crisis for vulnerable patients with moderate to severe personality disorder, many with enhanced risk of suicide and various self-harming behaviors. The survey will be conducted within the Network for personality disorders – an ongoing quality and research collaboration including 17 treatment units within specialist mental health services in Southern Norway.

The survey will be implemented as an additional component of an ongoing longitudinal multi-center study investigating the course of treatment including approximately 500 patients. The survey will also include information from the treatment units on different compensatory efforts and alternative online and telephone-based consultation forms. Data collection is planned in May 2020.
