Confocal Microscopy
We have three confocal microscopes at the Imaging Facility:

Zeiss LSM 5 LIVE DUO (located in K06 043): fast-scanning and conventional confocal microscope (located in K06 043). An inverted microscope equipped for live-cell imaging. It comprises several laser lines (405, 458, 477, 488, 514, 561 and 633 nm for normal scanning and 405, 489 and 532 for fast scanning (LIVE module)). Available objectives: 20x NA 0.8 (Plan- Apochromat), 16x NA 0.5 Imm (Plan-Neofluar). 63x NA 1.4 oil DIC (Plan- Apochromat), 100x NA 1.45 oil DIC (alpha Plan-Fluar).

Zeiss LSM 710 confocal microscope (located in K06 018). An inverted microscope equipped for live-cell imaging including a definite focus system. It comprises several laser lines (405, 458, 477, 488, 514, 561 and 633 nm). Available objectives: 10x NA 0.45 DIC II (Plan-Apochromat), 20x NA 0.8 DIC II (Plan-Apochromat), 25x NA 0.8 (LD LCI Plan Apochromat), 40x NA 1.2 Water Imm DIC III (C- Apochromat), 63x NA 1.4 oil DIC III (Plan- Apochromat), 100x NA 1.46 oil DIC III (alpha Plan-apochromat).

To get access to the microscopes you must first make an appointment with a staff member to be trained on each system you want to use. Then you must use the online booking system.
