Wide-Field Microscopy

Zeiss AxioObserver.Z1

The Zeiss AxioObserver.Z1 is an automated inverted wide-field microscope for acquiring images of live and fixed samples on slides or in multi-well plates. The instrument is controlled via the ZEN 3.1 pro software and images acquired using an Orca Flash 4.0 V3 digital CMOS camera (Hamamatsu).

This instrument is equipped with a Colibri 7 light source with 7 illumination channels covering all common dyes and fluorescent proteins.

The Colibri 7 is a flexible and efficient LED light source that ensures gentle fluorescence imaging of fixed and live samples.

Microscope features:

  • Automated high-precision stage
  • Live-cell incubation chamber with CO2 and temperature-control
  • Colibri 7 light source (7 different LEDs available)
  • Stage adapter for use with slides, multi-well plates or dishes
  • Orca Flash 4.0 V3 digital CMOS camera (Hamamatsu)
  • 5x 0.16 NA Plan-Apochromat air objective
  • 10x 0.5 NA Fluar air objective
  • 10x 0.3 NA EC Plan-Neofluar air objective, Ph1
  • 20x 0.5 NA EC Plan-Neofluar air objective
  • 40x 1.3 NA Plan-Apochromat oil objective, DIC
  • 63x 1.4 NA Plan-Apochromat oil objective, DIC

The Leica DM6000B is an automated upright epifluorescence microscope equipped with high magnification objectives and a Hamamatsu Imageµ-1κ EM-CCD camera. It is ideal for acquiring images of weak fluorescent proteins in cell cultures, tissues and whole organisms, such as bacteria.

Microscope features:

  • Automated stage
  • 40x 0.65 NA air objective, Ph2
  • 63x 1.4 NA oil objective, Ph3
  • 100x 1.46 NA oil objective, DIC
  • 100x 1.4 NA oil objective, Ph3
  • Filter cubes for multiple wave lengths including DAPI
